'Acéphalous' Preview: Adam C. Jones' "Paroxysm as Method"
Amassing Support and Compiling Essays for Acid Horizon's 'Acéphalous'
Yesterday, Acid Horizon launched its Kickstarter campaign for the tarot deck Acéphalous: The Erotic Tarot of Georges Bataille and its companion publication, a compendium of artwork, essays, and other writings titled Acéphalous. At the time of writing this message, the campaign to fund the limited edition, independently published work has already exceeded 25% of its funding goal! We have presently committed ourselves to producing a mere 450 units of each of the items promised in the campaign; we are also deliberating whether to commit to more, given how quickly this project is funding. Whatever happens over the course of this month, our contributors can rest assured that Acéphalous will be an exclusive publication that will likely never be published again! We appreciate those who have contributed so far and urge prospective supporters to navigate to the campaign upon seeing this before it is done funding.
I also wanted to take a moment to showcase the work of my friend, colleague, and comrade Adam C. Jones, who has been busy authoring various essays for Acéphalous, including a piece of writing that I am hosting on the blog here today. After you have registered your support for Acéphalous, be sure to subscribe to Adam's blog and take a look at an early version of an essay likely to appear in the compendium. “Paroxysm as Method: An Introduction to Non-Knowledge (On the Birthday of Georges Bataille)” is available to all readers here. Thanks for your support, and have a wonderful weekend.
