First Snow at Naxocephalon
A pre-winter dispatch from Ocular Editions amidst the last wave of deck fulfillment
Today marked the first light dusting of snow at Naxocephalon—the studio that commemorates the Acéphalous project and now serves as the home base of Ocular Editions (as well as its allied projects: Acid Horizon, LEPHT HAND, and all the rest). More about the namesake of this small but dutiful and durable structure will appear in the forthcoming Acéphalous Compendium—which, if all goes as planned, may begin fulfillment here as early as December. I’m awaiting a final timeline from our printer.
We are now very close to completing the final distributions of Acéphalous and Vintagia decks, whether sent as prize giveaways, archive donations, or final sales. Only a handful of decks remain available in our online store. The creators of Acéphalous each retain a small personal reserve of decks for archival and future creative purposes. Given the success and continuing demand for Vintagia, a smaller follow-up print run is likely in the near future.
Nearly all Kickstarter backers have now received their decks. A few shipments remain pending due to missing or invalid addresses. If you recently submitted your updated address, expect your deck to go out tomorrow afternoon or by the end of the week. I handle these particular batches in weekly groups, so a delay is normal.
Many of the blessed decks and custom editions have already found their homes. If you were waiting for your specialty order to arrive, I processed all outstanding items in this category earlier this evening.
For the season ahead, several Acéphalous Century Decks have been made available at a discounted rate. Each item is a signed deck accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and is recorded in the public registry available on the Acid Horizon website.
You may also notice select decks and custom cards listed at gallery prices. These include custom card inclusions and, in all cases, original artwork by Noah Trapolino. If you have inquiries or wish to negotiate on one of these items, feel free to reach out. Two decks are also currently listed for auction on eBay.
Also, in the past few days, I’ve had two very serious and inspiring discussions regarding two new decks that I plan to bring to the Ocular Editions imprint in 2026. Both projects promise to expand the symbolic and philosophical scope of what we’ve been building, each in its own distinctive way. I’m deeply excited about these forthcoming inclusions to the imprint and the extended collaborations they may entail. More details will unfold in time, and I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated as these works begin to take shape.
